Over 46,000 curfew violators arrested in Sri Lanka
The total number individuals arrested over the past 46 days for violating the curfew has increased to 46,284.
In addition to this 12,013 vehicles have also been taken into police custody during this period.
Meanwhile the curfew in all districts excluding Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara and Puttalam districts was lifted at 5.00 a.m. this morning and will be re-imposed at 8.00 p.m.
The curfew in these districts will only be in effect between 8.00 p.m. and 5.00 a.m. daily until Wednesday (May 06).
An island-wide curfew will be in effect from 8.00 p.m. on Wednesday (06) to 5.00 a.m. on Wednesday (May 11).
The curfew in the districts of Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara and Puttalam which have been identified as high risk zones will remain continuously in effect until 5.00 a.m. on May 11.
