Can the government specifically state that it will not sign the agreement? – The International Question

UNP General Secretary Akila Viraj Kariyawasam has questioned whether the government can categorically declare that it will not sign the Millennium Challenge Agreement with the United States.

He was speaking at an election campaign event ahead of the general election.

He added, “These rulers have made many allegations in the past regarding the MCC agreement.

Today, however, it is being said that this agreement is completely harmless. I challenge these rulers.

If possible, the M.C.C. Can it be said that the agreement is not going to be made? Can this agreement be torn down before the general election?

Our government has not signed on any occasion except to look into the matter. ”
