Tamil Nadu Budget 2017: Security tightened – EPS govt. submits budget
The maiden budget of Finance Minister D.Jayakumar for the fiscal year 2017-2018 will be presented on Thursday (March 16) in the Tamil Nadu Assembly. It will be the first budget presented in the absence of Jayalalithaa.
Heavy police has been deployed in the premises ahead of the presentation of the budget to prevent any outburst by the opposition.
Assembly Secretary A M P Jamaludeen, had requested the Chennai City Commissioner to deploy more police for protection, expecting trouble.
According to the AIADMK, the budget is expected to be free of any tax raises and as promised by its new Deputy General Secretary TTV Dinakaran, is expected to allot the required funds to implement the public welfare schemes announced by Jayalalithaa.
