US reveals time for historic meeting between Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un

The White House said on Monday (June 4), the first meeting between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un will take place at 9:00 a.m. (0100 GMT) in Singapore on June 12.

The announcement of the timing for the first meeting between the two leaders came just three days after Trump hosted a senior North Korean delegation at the White House bearing a letter from Kim.

US and North Korean officials are still laying the groundwork for the summit.

On May 24, Trump cancelled the summit saying it would be “inappropriate at this time”.

However, on June 2 Trump announced the summit is back on.
